What this site holds

The centre works from Fuzhou lacquered leather and the Traditional Lacquered Leather Trunk-Making Craft of Fuzhou (髹漆全皮箱制作技艺). Its work includes craft research, experiments with leather and lacquer, contemporary objects, exhibitions, and the organisation of historical material.

This is not a catalogue of a closed tradition. It records how a craft is passed on, and what can still happen between lacquer and leather in the present.
